SHAH ALAM, 22 MAY 2026 (FRIDAY) – Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation) or MBI Selangor, through Yayasan MBI and in collaboration with the Selangor State Education Department (JPNS) and the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), today launched the Selangor People’s Tuition Programme (PTRS) and Didik Kasih Programme (PDK) 2026 at Dewan Raja Muda Musa, Section 7, Shah Alam.
YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor, said the implementation of both programmes reflects the State Government’s continued commitment to expanding inclusive access to quality education, with added emphasis on STEM subjects.
“Education is not merely a social agenda, but a long-term investment in Selangor’s future competitiveness, resilience and talent development. Every child deserves equitable access to quality education regardless of background,” he said.
In line with the state’s education digitalisation agenda, students are also provided access to the PTRS mobile application and the ePTRS portal (www.eptrs.my), which offer learning resources such as e-books, instructional videos, as well as interactive features including live sessions.
The Selangor People’s Tuition Programme (PTRS) is aimed at improving SPM performance and nurturing more competitive students. The effectiveness of the PTRS module is reflected in the improvement of the State Average Grade (GPN), which rose to 4.52 in SPM 2025 compared to 4.59 in the previous year.
For 2026, PTRS will benefit 143,000 students, comprising 71,000 Form 5 students and 72,000 Form 4 students across 274 secondary schools under KPM and JAIS, covering eight (8) subjects: Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Additional Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Meanwhile, the Didik Kasih Programme (PDK) focuses on literacy and numeracy interventions for remedial primary school students, supported by an allocation of RM1 million under the Selangor Budget 2025. The programme targets 20,000 students from Year 2 to Year 6 across 661 primary schools through Literacy (Bahasa Melayu) and Numeracy (Mathematics) modules.
Both programmes are further strengthened through the provision of free learning modules, meals, as well as allowances for coordinators and teachers.
The ceremony also saw the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation for PTRS and PDK 2026 to members of the Special Advisory Panel, task force, District Coordinators and PTRS Module Writers, in recognition of their contributions to the successful implementation of the programmes.
In addition, appreciation sessions and prize presentations were held for students, including awards for outstanding PTRS students in SPM 2025, the SPM 2025 Excellence Incentive, as well as awards to recipients of the Higher Education Study Award (HPIPT) 2026.
All awards and recognitions were presented by YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor, accompanied by Dato’ Ts. Saipolyazan M. Yusop, Group Chief Executive Officer of MBI Selangor, Datin Wan Nor Ashikin Abu Kassim, Director of JPNS, and YBhg. SS Dato’ Hj. Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad, Director of JAIS.
