LAUNCH OF SMART SELANGOR VIRTUAL REALITY SIMULATOR ENVISIONING SMART SELANGOR 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah alongside Selangor Menteri Besar, YAB Amirudin Shari, launched the Smart Selangor Virtual Reality Simulator today at the 4th Selangor International Business Summit 2018 (SIBS 2018) at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

They were accompanied by YBDato’TengChangKhim, Selangor StateSenior Executive Councillor (EXCO) for Investment, Industry and Commerce and SME, and the Chief Executive Officer of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI Selangor), YM Raja Shahreen Raja Othman at the MBI Selangor pavilion.

The Smart Selangor Virtual Reality Truck is an effort by MBI Selangor to holistically showcase Smart Selangor in an interesting, progressive style of presentation to effectively emulate the essence of Smart Selangor. The VR simulation gives users a glimpse into what the future holds for Smart Selangor, in line with its vision of becoming the premier Smart State in ASEAN by 2025 with the portrayal of Smart Energy, Smart Waste Management, Smart Mobility as well as Smart Education, among others.

The VR Truck will be at MITEC during Selangor International Expo 2018 from the 6th to 9th
September 2018 as well as Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention 2018 from the 13th to 15th September 2018 for the public to try.

From October 2018, MBI Selangor with its partners, Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), Bahagian Teknologi Maklumat SUK, and Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Selangor (PPAS), will organise a road tour with the Smart Selangor VR Truck as the main attraction beginning from Sg Besar, where the public gets to experience Smart Selangor 2025 as well as other initiatives and programmes by Selangor State Government.

Among the activities during the Jelajah 3600 Smart Selangor are exhibitions by government agencies and deparments, Smart Selangor Mobile Library, entertainment by local artists, food trucks and market place as well as forums with celebrities.
